NAD SYLVAN “Where The Martyr Carved His Name”

Vintage Trouble vor eindruckvoller Kulisse auf dem Iconic Woodstock Festival 2016 (Warschau, PL)

The summer of 2015 saw the release of Vintage Trouble’s first album for Blue Note Records – 1 Hopeful Rd. – to widespread critical and commercial acclaim.

The summer of 2016 sees Vintage Trouble setting fire to stages throughout Europe. With a run of headlining performances and festival appearances, the band unleashed their powerful live energy on the old continent.

On July 14th, Vintage Trouble rocked the stage of the iconic Woodstock Festival (Warsaw, Poland), hitting almost 700,000 fans with a wave of verve and enthusiasm. The seminal festival started in 1995 and grew exponentially throughout the years reaching a peak on 750,000 people in 2014. Woodstock Festival has become a staple of the Polish summer, with two stages that host around 30 bands for a weekend of free music.

The great and inspirational environment of this year Woodstock Festival, makes Vintage Trouble performance a stand out! The close interaction with the audience, the unique sound and the energetic attitude on stage created the perfect mix of an unforgettable show.

You can watch the performance here:

The band’s last album “1 Hopeful Rd.” includes the first single “Run Like The River”, the deep soul ballad “Another Man’s Words”, “Angel City, California”, a stomping, joyous ode to Vintage Trouble’s hometown of Los Angeles, and “Doin’ What You Were Doin’”, which demonstrates the band’s gift for penning startlingly honest songs about matters of the heart. It was produced by GRAMMY®-winning producer Don Was, who is President of Blue Note Records, the band’s U.S. label.

2015 saw Vintage Trouble support AC/DC across Australia, Europe and the USA, in amongst a host of sold out headline shows (including London’s Koko), festivals appearances (including BST at Hyde Park) and other major support slots (including opening for Paloma Faith at London’s O2 Arena). It says much about the bands widespread appeal that they can support both AC/DC and Paloma Faith!

Vintage Trouble – comprising Ty Taylor (vocals), Nalle Colt (guitar), Richard Danielson (drums) and Rick Barrio Dill (bass) – play live-wired, straight-shootin, dirty-mouth'd, pelvis-pushing juke music. Or, as Yahoo! Music put it, "imagine James Brown singing lead for Led Zeppelin and you'll get an idea of Vintage Trouble's muscular, in the pocket sound." The New York Times noted, "Like Otis Redding, Vintage Trouble makes music that is a little bit of can slow dance, groove, rock and let it all go."

Bullet Height reveal stunning Single B-Side "Hold Together (DJ Hyper Remix)"

What the press are saying about DJ Hyper:
“A bombastic firebrand of a return!” - DJ Mag
“Back demonstrating what we know he’s always been capable of” - Mixmag
“…if NIN met the Beastie Boys” – Radio X

Berlin-based electronic-rock duo Bullet Height have revealed a stunning electronica remix by DJ Hyper for their new single ‘Hold Together’, out now via Superball Music (Three Trapped Tigers, 65daysofstatic, Maybeshewill & more):

The full single will be available on all digital platforms, and will also include another remix by Texan producer ArtVersusIndustry:

“When I was sent the ‘Bullet Height’ material, I knew this was a band whose music made sense to me” comments DJ Hyper on working with Bullet Height “It’s exactly the sort of music I would choose to listen to and the ideas for the remix came thick and fast. I’ve aimed to counterpoint beautiful melody with aggression and I couldn’t be happier with the results. It’s one of my favourite remixes of recent years.”

The band added: “Hyper makes brooding electronic beasts – anyone that’s not heard the albums ‘Lies’ or ‘Bully’ absolutely needs to! When the remix came back we were blown away – it struck the perfect tone & vibe. There’s already been talk of a collaboration on his upcoming material, which we’re super excited about”.

A pioneering British electronica and breakbeats DJ, Hyper is both prolific and critically acclaimed, previously working with the likes of The Prodigy, Paul Van Dyk and more. His 2013 award-nominated album ‘Lies’(which featured 2 Beatport #1’s) was followed up quickly with the ground-breaking and beautiful ‘Symphony Of Lies’ which saw 8 of the original album tracks broken down and reinterpreted with strings and sound design as a total juxtaposition to the standard dance floor remix package.

Hyper’s music has been featured on Orange Is The New Black, BBC 6 Nations television coverage and the IMAX trailer for the Everest movie, with remixes for Kelis and Killaflaw also under his belt. His latest studio album (2015’s ‘Bully’) featured Neil Ormandy fresh from his work with Eric Prydz and the stunning voice of Robert Shields, and was widely hailed as a return to form.

Bullet Height, meanwhile, recently released the official video for their latest single ‘Hold Together’, filmed on location in Berlin by director and long-time artistic collaborator Valquire Veljkovic:

The new track shows yet another side to the increasingly apparent song-writing talents of band members Jon Courtney (Pure Reason Revolution) & Sammi Doll (IAMX), pulling in the heavier elements of the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode and The Prodigy and blending them with the hard techno sounds of Gesaffelstein, Gatekeeper and the brooding, sexual underbelly of Berlin’s macabre underground dance music scene.

Look out for more news on Bullet Height in the coming months.

‘Hold Together’ track list:
1. Hold Together
2. Hold Together (DJ Hyper Remix)
3. Hold Together (ArtVersusIndustry Remix)
